Hello All !

Just wondering what you folks think is the best approach on small lakes during the pre spawn.
Live or Artificial? I am seeing people have good luck with minnows. I am anxious after being cooped up all winter!

Hi Steve and welcome to MyTackleSpace.com. If you look on the main page I have posted a link to an article I just wrote on spring trout fishing. There is also an embedded link in that article to someone else's opinion on trout fishing. The thing is, there are so many different techniques no one knows them all.

hope you enjoy your time with us and be sure to post some photos of those trout you are about to catch.

Ted

P. S. I secretly like a small silver spoon worked real slow up current or across current by the back eddies.

Well we are 60 mi SW of Chicago near the Kankakee river and Illinois river, we always hit the small lakes as they thaw. We are after Bass. Anxious to use your good advice to catch some LUNKERS!

Go to this link and read my article on Bass Fishing With Jerk Bait. Just remember that as the ice is just melting so are the Bass, work you lure slowly. https://efishbox.com/FishingBlog/tabid/268/Default.aspx
